Step 4Painting the Sky and Clouds

Place the horizon line slightly above the middle of your canvas. This positioning emphasizes the reflections more than the sky.
Paint the Sky
Use a big brush and dip it in water. Mix white with a little blue and start painting from the top, working your way down. Outline the shape of the big cloud by painting around it, creating the background blue sky.
