We painters waste a heuuuge amount of time looking for inspiring images to paint.
Now you can create those images yourself with Artificial Intelligence.
Sorry, PaintyBot is no longer active. Please use OpenArt.ai instead.
In this lesson I'll show you how to use Ai to create beautiful inspiring images to paint from within just a few minutes - saving you hours of frustrating searching.
Please note that since PaintyBot has closed some parts of this video will not be applicable, but you can use the same kinds of techniques at OpenArt.ai to produce images with Ai.
Then I'll take you step by step through the process of painting that image with acrylics on canvas. (Oils are fine too).
Enjoy!

Hi I’m Richard. I’ve been painting my whole life and back in 2001 I traded my graphic design career for the humble life of a full time artist. I love painting, and as it turns out, I love teaching too.
Nowadays I balance my life between parenting, painting, surfing, travelling and teaching. My work is regularly featured in international art magazines, in galleries in New Zealand and America, on TV and in my Mum’s house.
I give outdoor painting workshops in interesting spots around this beautiful planet of ours and love encouraging people to paint. Two of my favourite artists are John Singer Sargent and Joaquín Sorolla.

I’d love to be your new teacher.
Richard is a master artist with an exceptional skill in identifying and communicating key factors to making successful paintings. I have found his video workshops an excellent resource for improving my own work.

Cinque Terre Summer Sunset in oils.
Nice light summery feel to this, Ian. Your drawing is very good - I can see a lot of effort has gone in there. It's difficult to keep good drawing and use expressive brushwork at the same time and it's got a little tight in the buildings compared to the rest of the painting. That comes easier with practice. A lot of expressive work in the bushes though which is great, but it's come at the expense of some of the drawing. That is, it's important even when painting complex shapes like trees and bushes to keep in mind the overall interesting shapes of the darks and lights. When I lose that sense of structure I sometimes restate the dark shapes and then the midtones and lights again to get that structure back.
Mediterranean town at sunset, acrylic with oil glazing, canvas, 50 cm x 50 cm
Great work Elena. Really nice glowing light effect in the sky and water and everything vertically in line with the sun. The yellow oil glazing really paid off there. Lots of interesting detail in the houses. Nicely expressive brushwork.
